My specific workshop is called "Indie Authors and the Temple of DIY":

This 90-minute session will cover three major topics: Laying The Groundwork, Publishing, and Promotion.

‘Laying The Groundwork’ will address what it means to be an indie author, how to decide if indie authorship is right for you, publishing options (i.e., Print On Demand [POD], subsidy, ebook, podcast/audiobooks), how to choose a publisher, and creating your author brand.

‘Publishing’ will delve into the nuts and bolts of publishing: when and how to hire out for professional services like editing and book cover design, formatting your manuscript for POD and ebook publication (including Kindle publication), working with a POD publisher, using Smashwords and Amazon DTP to publish ebooks.

'Promotion' will provide an introduction to Author Platform and a survey of both traditional and new media approaches to book promotion, with a specific emphasis on budget-conscious strategies.

Attendees will be given access to free, supporting excerpts from The IndieAuthor Guide, provided online in the form of downloadable pdf documents.

This workshop will be offered on Saturday, and again on Sunday. I'll also be there for the "Breakfast With the Stars" networking continental breakfasts on both days. And now...drumroll please...here's that discount code: HamS6.

Hope to meet some of you there!
